18. Adrian Dantley – Now (Crossing Guard)
After his coaching career ended, Adrian Dantley (Adrian Dantley) became a sergeant in Maryland.
Some people may be surprised to learn that an NBA Hall of Fame member serves as a brigadier general, but Dantley defended his work in an interview in 2013. “First of all, it’s not beneath me to be a crossing guard,” he said. “I think that’s what the big hoopla is about. Like, ‘Holy cow, what is he doing being a crossing guard? He must be broke or having hard times.’” That’s not the case at all. I just like what I’m doing.”
In the same interview, Dantley cited health insurance as one of the main benefits of the job.
